Summary

Nissan Note e-Power is one of the models in Kenyan market and it has a good response especially among the people who erstwhile doubted Nissan’s CVT gearbox. It does not use a traditional multi-speed gearbox or a conventional automatic transmission popularly known as CVT; instead, uses a single-speed constant ratio reduction gear, basically an electric drive unit.

How does the Motor and the 1200cc engine works

In summary, the motor drives the wheels while the 1200cc engine charges the hybrid battery only hence the uniqueness of e-power from the conventional hybrid cars such as Toyota Fielder or Suzuki Swift.

Traditionally, electric Motors are quick to start and provide instant torque; when used in a car, the resultant is faster and instant acceleration as compared to the usual gearbox that uses pulleys and gears. With the new e-power technology by Nissan, a Nissan note e-Power produces a horsepower of 110hp and a torque of 25oNm and can achieve a 100km/hr in 9.8 seconds only. This is way too high a compared with say, Mazda Demio 1300cc that produces less than 95horse power.

Fuel consumption

Nissan Note epower can give you between 25 and 27km/Litre hence the most fuel efficient car in the history of Nissan in Kenya. This is because the fuel is only used when charging of the battery is needed. One doesn’t need to make a stop over to charge the battery of the car.

It is ideal car for someone who want to spend less money on fuel while maintaining power on the road. It is also ideal for 1st time car owners who have a budget of less than Kenya Shilling 1.5Million.

Currently, in Nairobi, the prices of the Nissan Note e-Power ranges between 1.3 and 1.45Million depending on features, mileage and trim.
